Tea And Coffee Natural Skin Care Recipes

Tea and coffee can be many times the topics which are creating disputes between the exclusive tea lovers and the coffee lovers. But this time there will be no dispute. We will talk about the benefits of both tea and coffee and how they can help us in our beauty routines. All the recipes will use natural ingredients as we all love natural skincare products.

I am a big fan of DIY products for personal care. I usually prefer them to the expensive cosmetics. With the DIY products, you know exactly what you are applying on your body. Usually, the ingredients needed are already in your home, you just need to learn how to put them together and transform them into a great natural product.

Natural Skin Care Recipes

Here is how coffee and tea can be used for face care products:

1. Green Tea Face Mist

It is very easy to make your own face mist at home. Whenever you feel the need to refresh your skin during the day, a facial mist could help with that.

Whether you feel tired, stressed, fatigued, this easy to make green tea mist can be used whenever you feel like your face needs a boost. It helps your skin to feel refreshed and reinvigorated.

Ingredients:

– Dried green tea leaves 2 tsp
– Filtered water 100ml
– Essential oils (optional)

You can check my post DIY: Green Tea and Roses Face Mist Recipe for details on how to make it, benefits and recipe variations depending on your needs.

2. Coffee Face Mask

This mask is very easy to put together and I was really surprised by the result when I first used it.

Ingredients:

– ground coffee – 1 tbsp
– honey – 1tsp
– milk – 1tsp

Preparation:

Just add all the ingredients together and your face mask is ready to use.

How to apply:

– Make sure your face is cleaned of any impurities and make-up
– Apply the face mask with some gentle circular movements to exfoliate your skin
– Leave it on your face for 15-20 minutes
– Rinse and enjoy your hydrated skin

3. Tea bags for your eyes

This one again is a very easy way to use tea for your face care. Applying cold tea bags on your eyes will help treat puffy eyes and dark circles. If you use green tea bags you will notice that your eyes will be less swollen and the skin around the eyes will look more firm.

Ingredients:

All you need is 2 used tea bags.

Preparation:

Stick the tea bags in the fridge for an hour or so.
As soon as they are cold, they can be used.

How to use:

Make sure you previously clean your face and eye area.
Lay down and apply the cold bags on your eyes and leave them there for 10-15 minutes.

4. Coffee Scrub

Coffee can be easily used as a scrub for both face and body. It helps with getting rid of dead skin cells. Your skin will feel more hydrated and smooth.

Ingredients:

– coffee grounds
– olive oil or coconut oil

Preparation:

Just mix some coffee grounds with the oil of your choice and prepare the moisturizing scrub.

How to use:

This scrub can be used for body and face. Gently massage your skin when you use it on your face, as the coffee grounds can be a bit too harsh otherwise.

Tip:

You can use this as a lip scrub as well!

5. Green Tea Powder Face Mask

I love green tea and matcha is a more powerful version of green tea. It is packed with antioxidants and it is not only beneficial to drink but it can also be used on your skin.

Ingredients:

– matcha powder 1 tsp
– water to make a paste

Prepare:

Mix the ingredients together and prepare the mask.

How to use:

Evenly apply the prepared mask on your face and neck.
Leave it on your skin for 10-15 minutes, until it gets dry.
Remove with lukewarm water.

6. Tea or coffee ice cubes

You are not the only one who needs a coffee or tea in the morning, your skin could benefit from them as well. Applying tea or coffee ice cubes on your face in the morning will help you reduce puffiness and it will rejuvenate your skin. You can apply them, especially in the eye area. The cold will help increase the blood circulation and will make your skin look brighter.

Ingredients:

– Cold coffee or tea
– Ice tray

Preparation:

Pour the tea or coffee in the ice-cube tray and stick it in the freezer overnight.
In the morning you will have some nice skin refreshing ice cubes.

7. Coffee eye serum

This one is the latest addition to my DIY face products. I found this recipe on Pinterest and I thought it sounds too good and too easy to make to not try it right away.

Ingredients:

– avocado oil
– almond oil
– coffee grounds
– An empty glass bottle.

Preparation:

Pour all ingredients in the empty bottle and let them sit there for 5 days or more.
Ideally, you can place the bottle in a bright area but not with direct sun exposure.

After 5 days, you can strain the oil and you will have your coffee eye serum.

How to use:

You can apply a few drops on your eye area in the morning and in the evening. Tap it gently with your ring finger.

Benefits

This serum helps reduce puffiness, dark circles under your eyes. I can also help tighten your skin in the eye area.
